The buttons on our webpages that enable you to share via social media such as facebook and twitter are provided by AddThis. They will not collect personally identifiable information when you use one of the share buttons. Here are more details about the service and their Privacy Policy 

Data protection:

1.War on Want is registered to collect people’s information, with the Information Commissioner .

We collect the information you give to us by email, forms that you fill in on our website, over the telephone or through the post. Some information is gathered when you join, make a donation, complete an online action or sign up to receive email updates, or through other interactions. We ask for your name, address, phone and email (plus payment details if you are joining or donating). We might also request other information such as what you are interested in about our work in order to be able to keep you up to date, and help keep what we send you relevant. We may use your name and address information to contact you by telephone, and use other sources of publicly available information to ensure we hold relevant information about you.

2.How your information is used

We may carry out analysis of the personal information we collect about you and add publicly available information to create a profile of your interests, preferences and level of potential donations, so that we can contact you in the most appropriate way and with the most relevant information.

We may share your details with trusted service providers in order to help us conduct some of the activities above. Where this service is undertaken on behalf of War on Want, this is done under contract, in compliance with strict Data Protection requirements and security measures are taken.

We will not sell your information to anyone else.

3.How we keep your information secure

War on Want has registered with a service to protect the transfer of the data you put into the forms on our website. This HTTPS service means that all the data you put into a form is encrypted when it is sent over the internet.

We have secure firewalls and database providers that perform to a high data security standard.  Our software applications and network infrastructure include security measures to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. We store the information in a database in a secured environment. Our online data collection partner is Engaging Networks

Your payment details are also collected using suppliers with the highest standards in data security. Our payment processing partners are Worldpay (UK) Limited, and Rapidata 

4.How you can amend the information we hold about you or change how you wish us to contact you

You can contact us at any time by email, letter or telephone to change or update your details.

At your request we will give you all details of personal information held about you by War on Want, once identity has been satisfactorily verified. Incorrect information will be amended promptly.

You can unsubscribe from receiving emails from us at any time, using the unsubscribe function on the email, or email support@waronwant.org.

If you do not wish to receive postal communications or phone calls from us, please contact us asking us not to contact you in this way in future.

5. How you can find out more about your rights under the Data Protection Act
